Frank Dicopoulos made the name Daisy popular

The Guiding Light soap opera started the Daisy name trend. Frank Dicopoulos tells how the show changed baby names.

The Unexpected Effect of Soap Opera

Frank Dicopoulos, who played Frank Cooper on “Guiding Light” for 30+ years, recently shared a mind-blowing thing about the show’s cultural influence.

The popular soap opera didn’t just entertain—it actually started a baby-naming trend that’s still visible today.

The Daisy Effect

“I can’t tell you how many people come up and say they named their baby Daisy after Harley had her baby,” Dicopoulos told Remind Magazine.

And what’s even more amazing—some viewers have made major life decisions because of the show’s storyline.

“They kept their baby because she (Harley) had decided to keep her baby.”

A Dramatic Birth

This storyline began in 1987 when Dicopoulos’ character Frank and his sister Harley (played by Beth Ehlers) were introduced.

Harley’s pregnancy and her difficult decision of whether to keep the baby or not attracted the audience.

Susan “Daisy” Lemay was finally born dramatically—on a highway, when Frank and Harley’s car crashed on the way to the hospital.

Numbers don’t lie

Data from the Social Security Administration confirms Dicopoulos’ statement.

Before the storyline aired, the name Daisy was at the lowest point in popularity for a century, with only 444 babies per million.

The next year, it rose almost 50% to 655, and by the end of the decade, Daisy’s popularity had reached the highest level since 1935.

Birth of a Star

A few years later, a young Brittany Snow played the role of teenage Daisy from 1998-2001.

Dicopoulos speaks highly of Snow, who is now a Hollywood star, saying she is “kicking ass” in the industry.

Part of TV History

“Guiding Light” was no ordinary soap opera—it is America’s longest-running scripted broadcast program.

Starting as an NBC radio serial in 1937 and moving to television in 1952, the show went through countless changes in the industry before finally ending in 2009.

Star Making Machine

Dicopoulos is proud to have worked with many actors who later became major stars.

He fondly remembers Murray Bartlett (who played Cyrus Foley) as “a really nice guy,” and shares that when he recently met Matt Bomer (who played Ben Reade), he “had big hugs.”

From influencing baby names to launching Hollywood careers, “Guiding Light” left a legacy that continues to shine even after its final episode.

Mephisto’s entry in MCU: Devil Dhamaka in Ironheart Finale!

Mephisto made his MCU debut in Ironheart Finale. Sacha Baron Cohen became devil, Riri did a dark deal.

Devil Finally Showed His Power

After fan theories and rumors, Marvel’s biggest villain, Mephisto, has finally come on screen!

In the season finale of ‘Ironheart‘, Sacha Baron Cohen played this devil character, which fans had been waiting for since the time of ‘WandaVision’.

How did this big decision happen?

When creator Chinaka Hodge was asked if Marvel forced Mephisto to come to the show, he carefully answered, “It was not just my decision.

Marvel gave me the power to make this decision.” He added, “As a fan, I hope he will appear many times in the future too.”

Riri’s Dark Side

The most shocking moment in the finale came when Riri Williams accepted Mephisto’s offer.

What’s the proof? Her dead friend, Natalie, suddenly came back to life, and Riri’s hands showed the same black veins that were on Parker’s wrists before.

This Is No Normal Hero

Dominique Thorne, who plays Riri, loved the moral complexity of her character. “It’s so fun that Riri doesn’t have to walk the walk like a traditional hero,” she shared.

“She’s already crossed some lines and thinks she’ll deal with the consequences later.”

This Decision Makes Perfect Sense

Thorne was not shocked to make a deal with Riri’s devil. “It reinforces what we’ve seen from ‘Wakanda Forever’—he’s not committed to becoming a superhero,” he explained.

“The last moment makes everything clear… You have so much brilliance, so much potential, and you have to make a choice.”

The Hood’s game is not over yet

In a mid-credits scene, Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos) is shown asking for “Supreme-like help” in a magic shop, which suggests that his villain story is not over yet.

Ramos is excited about future storylines: “Will Riri be completely bad, and will Parker have to stop her? He’s going to be totally sick!”

Will there be more seasons?

Riri’s deal with Mephisto, Natalie coming back to life, and Parker running away from power—there are a lot of loose ends already.

Hodge wants these stories to continue in future seasons, not in other MCU projects.

“I’m hopeful for any work in Hollywood right now,” he admitted. “Yes, second season, third season, fourth season. Absolutely yes!”

All episodes of ‘Ironheart’ season 1 are now available for streaming on Disney+.

Olivia Munn’s conflict with the Newsroom Director: Career Drama Exposed

Olivia Munn’s conflict with the Newsroom Director almost stopped her next role. How did the Director sabotage her career?

Drama Story Behind the Curtain

Olivia Munn recently shared a very tough experience on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast that happened during the time of HBO’s show “The Newsroom”.

This drama almost affected her future roles as well!

Disagreement over character

“This director repeatedly forced me to play my character differently,” Munn told about her role as Sloan Sabbith.

The problem started when it came to scenes with Tom Sadoski (who was her love interest Don Keefer).

The director repeatedly asked her to do all these things:

  • “Smile when you look at him.”
  • “Snuggle with him.”
  • “Kiss him.”

Munn clearly refused and asked, “Why? My character is busy at work.” She remembered, “I used to say that he is busy at this time.”

Attempt to take revenge

The drama was not limited to shooting only. A few years later, Munn came to know that the same director was trying to spoil her new movie role as well.

“I was almost at the final stage for the movie,” Munn told.

Her manager called and gave the shocking news: some other director had claimed that she “always came late to the set of Newsroom and was very combative.”

Bringing out the truth

Munn immediately rejected these accusations. “I used to stay away from the set for only seven minutes.

I was never late,” she said emphatically. She immediately knew who was behind these rumors.

“Just because my way of approaching the role was different, he wanted to stop me from getting any other work,” Munn said.

Moving forward

Despite all this, Munn got that role. After The Newsroom (2012-2014), he has worked in several hit films such as “Office Christmas Party,” “Ocean’s Eight,” and “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

The Emmy-winning show Newsroom, which was created by Aaron Sorkin, also featured talented actors such as Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, and Sam Waterston, and the show ran for teen seasons.

Rob McElhenney’s name change: The story of becoming Rob Mac

Why did It’s Always Sunny star Rob McElhenney change his name to Rob Mac? Know the whole story of his name change.

Name Matter

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney is tired of explaining his last name to people.

In a funny social media video, he announced that he is officially shortening his name to “Rob Mac” – and yes, he knows what you’re thinking.

Accepting the “Douchey” Decision

“Is this a little douchey? Yes,” he admitted nonchalantly today.

But after spending “literally a day” trying to pronounce and spell McElhenney correctly, he thought there was nothing more to it.

It’s not just about them

In classic Rob style, he called this change a public service: “Thousands of people have wasted minutes of their lives because of my last name.” Consider it!

Family Name Twist

The interesting thing is that McElhenney is not a real “family name”.

Showing an old photo of his great-great-grandmother, Bridget McIllhenny, he said that government officials randomly changed the spelling generations ago.

Anyway, people call me Rob Mac

“Times have changed and more people call me Rob Mac,” he pointed out.

This shortened version of his unofficial nickname has been around for years, so why not make it official?

Family First

Despite the change, he assured fans that what matters is unchanged: “My family knows and loves me, no matter how many syllables my name has, and that’s the only thing that matters to me.”

Not everyone liked it

His wife and “Sunny” co-star Kaitlin Olson told Variety that his kids are not happy.

“The kids are really not happy because they have the same last name,” he said. “And legally mine too!”

Now in the name of Rob Mac

A representative confirmed that they have applied for the legal change, and now all professional projects will receive credit in the name of Rob Mac.

Whether you like it or not, the co-owner of Wrexham AFC is keeping things simple – and he really doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

Travis Kelce’s SNL Debut: Comedy and Reading Challenges

Travis Kelce’s journey on SNL – from reading struggles to doctor comedy success, with Taylor Swift.

Table Read Terror

Travis Kelce faced an unexpected problem while hosting the SNL table read.

“Table reading was a completely ridiculous situation for a guy like me who couldn’t read properly,” the Chiefs’ tight end admitted.

Instead of focusing on character and delivery, he was just stressed about skipping lines.

Behind the Scenes Masti

The writing process was actually fun for Kelce.

Working with head writer Kent Sublette and cast members like Michael Che and Colin Jost, he discussed creative ideas in a chill atmosphere.

Late Night and Funny Fun

“You’re there the whole week, from 2-3 a.m., every day, just trying to get work done,” Kelce shared.

Despite the tough schedule, he described the experience as a “crazy ride” that was worth it.

Pressure of Performance

The football star approached his hosting gig with a clear mindset: “I want to have fun, but I don’t want to look like a loser.”

The balance between fun and respect helped him give a solid performance.

Hit Performance

Kelce did wonders in his sketches alongside SNL talents like Ego Nwodim, Bowen Yang, and Sarah Sherman.

His opening monologue, which included family in the audience, and sketches like “Self-Defense” earned positive reviews.

From Football Fame to Pop Culture Icon

A sports superstar who won the Teen Super Bowl after joining the Chiefs in 2013, Kelce’s fame grew further when he started dating Taylor Swift in 2023.

Later, both of them made cameo appearances in the season 49 premiere of SNL, where Kelce poked fun at the media about their relationship.

The football champion proved that he can tackle comedy just as well as win over opposing teams, regardless of reading problems!

the Mormon Wives Stars will now compete in a dance competition in DAVTS

Two MoTok stars from the Mormon Wives show will compete in DAVTS season 34.

The Mormon Wives’ Surprise Double Announcement

The ballroom is now going to get a taste of MomTok drama! In the reunion episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, host Nick Viall dropped a bombshell that excited fans—not one, but two cast members will compete for the Mirror Ball trophy in Dancing with the Stars Season 34.

Dreams are happening, Poore

This revelation came when Viall revealed that “a lot” of ladies auditioned for the popular dance competition while filming Season 3 of his show.

When asked who wants the most spot, Whitney Leavitt immediately replied: “I feel like me, Jen, and.”

But when it came to who really deserves it, the cast supported Jennifer Affleck.

“Just because it’s her life dream since childhood,” Taylor Frankie Paul explained, and Jen confirmed, “Yes, it really is.”

From TikTok to Tango

The energy in the room changed when Viall revealed an unexpected twist—producers loved the MomTok crew so much that two of them will be included in the DWTS lineup.

While Jen secured her dream spot as expected, Whitney, who others consider “a real dancer” who “has been dancing her whole life,” took second position, which could set up a friendly rivalry between the two social media stars.

Star-Studded Season Ahead

The MomTokers won’t be dancing in the spotlight alone.

They will join an already exciting Season 34 lineup that includes Robert Irwin, son of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, who was announced as a contestant in April. Social media powerhouse Alix Earle was also confirmed in May.

Friendly Competition Is Starting

Though the announcement sparked a little playful banter between the two selected MomTokers, both women appeared genuinely thrilled to showcase their dancing skills on national television.

The moment marks a significant leap from TikTok fame to mainstream television for both women, who have built their following through the controversial and drama-filled Mormon MomTok community.

Though ABC has not announced an official premiere date for Dancing with the Stars Season 34, fans will be able to watch the MomTok stars demonstrate their dance moves when the show returns this fall.

Will their social media popularity translate to dancing success? Or will ballroom bring unexpected challenges? Whatever happens, viewers can expect plenty of entertainment when these TikTok stars trade their phones for dance shoes.

Kelly Roland becomes The Voice’s new coach

Kelly Roland debuts as The Voice’s new coach in the red chair.

Kelly Rowland New Coach Alert!

Kelly Rowland is stepping into a new spotlight. The Grammy-winning singer gave fans a glimpse of her newest gig as a coach on The Voice UK.

“New gig, who dis…” the 44-year-old singer shared on Instagram Stories, showing herself walking near those iconic red spinning chairs while crew members were busy on set.

Star-Studded Panel

The Voice UK announced its season 14 coaching lineup earlier this month, giving a clever nod to Rowland’s Destiny’s Child days: “Kelly… can you handle this? 😏”

Rowland is joining a powerhouse panel that includes music legend Tom Jones, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will. I. am, and British pop duo Tom Fletcher & Danny Jones of McFly fame.

Mean Girls Meets Music

In a playful Instagram Reel, the coaches announced the news via a Mean Girls-inspired whisper chain set to Missy Elliott’s “Pass That Dutch.”

The video shows the McFly guys sharing secrets with Jones, who tells Will.i.am, before finally reaching Rowland, who reacts with a surprised face and then smiles.

Old connection to talent shows

Judging singing competitions is nothing new for Rowland.

She has previously lent her expertise to The X Factor UK, where she helped form the wildly successful girl group Little Mix.

“I just remember seeing all those ladies, and I didn’t know if it was because of my DC days and just feeling what the chemistry would be like,” Rowland explained about her instinct to bring the group together.

“I knew how they would feel in my soul.”

Her talent show resume also includes stints on The X Factor US and The Voice Australia, leaving her well-prepared for her UK coaching debut.

Kelly is also on your screens

In addition to The Voice UK, Rowland is set to appear as a guest judge on Netflix’s upcoming music competition, Building the Band, where contestants form groups without seeing each other.

The show, which premieres July 9, features Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean as the host and Nicole Scherzinger as the mentor and judge.

Late One Direction star Liam Payne will also posthumously appear as a judge, who filmed his own segments in October before his tragic death.

Rowland previously told PEOPLE that Payne was “absolutely hilarious” during filming.

“I had no idea how funny he was, so I knew him, and he’s so cool,” she shared last August.

As filming for The Voice UK continues, fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere date—and the chance to see the “Motivation” singer bring his star power to those famous red chairs.

Blake Lively and Dorota’s Gossip Girl Reunion in Betty Booze

Blake Lively reunited with Gossip Girl co-star Dorota in a Betty Booze ad.

XOXO: Sweet Reunion of the Upper East Side

Blake Lively gave Gossip Girl fans the reunion they’ve been waiting for.

The actress, 37, brought back a beloved character from her CW days in a fun ad for the Betty Booze brand—none other than Dorota herself, played by Zuzanna Szadkowski.

Sipping Tea with Nostalgia

In this playful new campaign, Lively and Szadkowski meet on a park bench to catch up and literally “spill the tea”—that is, Betty Booze’s new Vodka Iced Tea flavors.

The commercial begins with a Gossip Girl-style sneaky photo snap, after which the two remove their dark sunglasses for their secret meeting.

“I have tea,” Szadkowski announces with a revealing look.

“Good tea?” Lively asks.

“Oh, best tea,” Szadkowski replies, revealing new canned cocktails.

Inside Jokes for Faithful Fans

The commercial is filled with hints about their shared television past.

When Lively jokes that Szadkowski is “doing a different sound,” poking fun at Dorota’s iconic Polish accent, Szadkowski immediately replies, “Oh, allergies.”

The ad ends with Szadkowski returning to character, with the accent: “Oh, Miss Betty, you’re going to get us in trouble.”

New Flavors Worth Gossiping About

The reunion celebrates the launch of two new Betty Booze Vodka Iced Tea flavors: Meyer lemonade and passion fruit.

Szadkowski describes them as “balanced, crisp, nothing artificial,” after which Lively adds with perfect timing, “which is hard to find in these areas.”

Lively playfully commanded fans in the video’s caption, “Go. Sip, girl,” a clever nod to the show’s title.

Betty Empire Expands

This latest addition expands Lively’s growing beverage empire.

She launched Betty Buzz sparkling mixers in 2021, followed by Betty Booze’s tequila and bourbon canned cocktails in 2023.

“I’m from a Southern family, so iced tea, especially in the summer, is a staple,” Lively told PEOPLE earlier this month.

“Sweet tea, passionfruit tea, tea with fresh lemonade … it all feels like relaxation and peaceful times.”

This Is Not Their First Reunion

Both actresses have occasionally reconnected with their Gossip Girl families since the show ended in 2012.

Szadkowski has previously reunited with several cast members in 2022, including Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr, and Ed Westwick.

For fans of the iconic series, seeing Serena and Dorota together again—even if it’s just for a commercial—brings back all the Upper East Side feelings.

And this time, there’s a proper drink to toast to.

Australian Survivor Host LaPaglia’s Shocking Exit Revealed

Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia faces unexpected exit from the show, fans shocked.

Unexpected Tribal Council

Jonathan LaPaglia had absolutely no idea. After hosting Australian Survivor for almost a decade, he was “voted out” from his own show, which he called the “craziest blindside.”

“Australian Survivor has seen epic blindsides in the last 10 years,” LaPaglia shared on Instagram, “but this one is the craziest… because it happened to me.”

The phone call that changed everything

The veteran host revealed he got the dreaded call from Network 10. He thanked them for their “hard work and dedication,”

then dropped a bomb—they’re going in a different direction for next season.

“Ratings were down a little recently and they wanted to do something drastic to shake the show up,” he explained.

No Immunity Idol Could Have Saved Them

LaPaglia, 55, handled the news with humor that Survivor fans can understand.

He joked that a “host swap” was happening instead of a “tribe swap” and noted that he had no hidden immunity idol to save himself from elimination.

“Whoever said that blindsiding is the most humane way to hurt someone is an idiot,” he added sincerely. “It hurts a lot!”

Memories of a Decade

Apart from the pain, LaPaglia’s message was filled with gratitude for the time spent on the show.

“I will miss the talented crew, all the clever players and our loyal sassy audience,” he wrote. “This has been the greatest adventure of my career.”

In a touching final gesture, he extinguished his own torch and concluded: “JLP…the tribe has spoken.”

Goodbye to Network

Network 10 and Australian Survivor confirmed his departure with kind words.

“JLP brings a unique blend of authority, intelligence and empathy to the role of host,” their joint statement read.

“We are sincerely grateful to JLP for his outstanding contribution over 10 years on Survivor.”

One Last Adventure

Fans will finally see LaPaglia in the upcoming 13th season, “Australia V The World.”

This special edition will see Australian contestants compete against international Survivor legends, including American favorites Cirie Fields, Parvati Shallow, and Tony Vlachos.

LaPaglia promises this will “probably be our best season EVER!”

As the torch is passed to a yet-unnamed new host, this unexpected twist marks the end of an era of Australian Survivor—and the start of a new chapter for both the show and its longtime host.

Quinta Brunson contemplates Abbott Elementary’s future

Quinta Brunson contemplates the future of Abbott Elementary and its new projects.

With success comes tough decisions

Quinta Brunson is at a turning point with her hit show Abbott Elementary.

As the beloved comedy approaches its fifth season, the 35-year-old creator and star is wondering what’s next.

“We’re very lucky that our show has lasted five seasons and the audience still loves it,” Brunson told Bustle.

“But my cast members want to explore other opportunities, and Abbott takes up seven months of our time.

It’s a big commitment that limits their chances of doing other things.”

Balancing success and new dreams

While there’s no set date for the show’s ending, Brunson is thinking beyond the classroom walls.

She’s currently reading scripts and waiting for her next perfect role.

“I want to use Abbott’s success to help other people’s creative projects move forward,” she explained.

Breaking away from her image

What’s next for the star? Something completely different.

“It’s every actor’s dream to break away from their image,” Brunson admitted. “Right now, everyone sees me as ‘Janine’ and ‘Teacher.’

I’m excited to show a completely different side of myself.”

The Abbotts’ ongoing journey

The school comedy, which debuted in 2021, quickly found a place in the hearts of viewers.

Though Season 5 was confirmed in January, a premiere date has not yet been announced.

Fans can expect the main cast to return, including Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti and William Stanford Davis.

The Cast’s Strong Bonds

The Abbott family has deep bonds. Chris Perfetti told PEOPLE earlier this year: “I feel very connected to my Abbott family.

It’s been a blessing to play Jacob for so long, and these guys became my family from day one.”

Lisa Walter even revealed that the cast received a pay raise ahead of Season 4, joking that they got “a little more money and as many Hot Pockets as I could eat.”

What’s Next

As Brunson moves forward at this point in her career, she’s balancing gratitude for Abbott’s success and excitement for future possibilities.

Whether she continues the beloved series or embarks on a new path, her creative journey has only just begun.

Fans can watch all episodes of Abbott Elementary on Hulu while they await news about Season 5.
