Alyssa Griffin and Joy Behar went at it hard on Friday’s episode of The View.
What started as a typical Hot Topics segment quickly turned into a heated showdown between these two strong-minded women.
Griffin, the conservative voice and former Trump staffer, didn’t hold back her frustrations during their discussion about Biden’s fitness for office.
The tension in the studio was thick enough to cut with a knife.
Age and Leadership Concerns
The panel was discussing Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 race.
They referenced a book claiming Biden couldn’t recognize George Clooney at a campaign event, which Griffin used to question his mental sharpness.
“Does that give you confidence in the middle of the night, if China is about to attack us?” she asked pointedly.
This question sparked an immediate reaction from Behar, who wasn’t having any of it.
Pointing Fingers and Raising Voices
Behar quickly flipped the script by bringing up Trump’s administration scandals.
Griffin shot back: “Do we just keep lowering the bar because Trump is bad?”
The exchange got even spicier when Behar suggested everyone should move on from Biden discussions.
That’s when Griffin totally lost it, throwing her arms up and exclaiming, “No, we have Trump because you guys screwed this up!” Jaws dropped across the studio.
Breaking for Commercial
The audience gasped at Griffin’s outburst, creating one of those TV moments viewers live for.
Behar tried to regain control by questioning the value of rehashing Biden debates.
Sunny Hostin jumped in with Trump criticisms, but the tension remained electric.
Eventually, Behar had to throw to commercial break, joking that they were turning into a Real Housewives episode.
Some viewers probably wished they’d seen chairs flying.
Post-Election Tensions
This wasn’t Griffin’s first heated exchange since Trump’s November victory.
She’s been regularly sparring with her co-hosts, especially Hostin, who blamed racism and misogyny for Harris’s loss.
Griffin strongly disagreed, challenging Hostin’s “stats” during a memorable November showdown.
“That’s not a fact. What fact are you talking about?” she demanded, raising her hand for emphasis. The political divide on set has never been more obvious.
