According to the Russian state news service TASS, the visit will include a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and talks with officials about working together on defense and the economy.
The deal, which is set to be signed in January, will improve partnerships between the two countries as they work to beat common enemies like the United States.
Esmaeil Baghaei, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that plans are being made for the signing.
Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, said in October that the deal would include better cooperation in defense.
On the other hand, the US says Iran gave short-range ballistic missiles to Moscow to use in the Afghanistan war.
