They now face Leicestershire in the final at Trent Bridge on September 20, but Leus Du Plooy will not be available for the county’s current Championship match against Durham.
The club has announced that he has been reclassified as an overseas player, with Max Holden taking charge as captain against Durham. This is a blow to Middlesex as they are now short of a reliable top-order batter ahead of the final.
