Emmy Wins: ‘Shogun’ and ‘The Bear’ Dominate, Big Wins for Japanese Actors

‘Shogun’ and ‘The Bear’ take home the Emmys, with amazing wins for Japanese actors Sanada and Sawai.

At the Emmy Awards on Sunday, Hacks was crowned the funniest comedy series, beating out The Bear, which still won a bunch of awards.

The biggest drama of the night was Shogun, winning 18 Emmys, including Best Drama Series.

Japanese actors Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai made history by winning Best Actor and Actress in a Drama, which was their first Emmy win.

The Bear kept up its winning streak with Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach winning their second time in a row for Best Actor and Supporting Actor in a Comedy, respectively.

Liza Colón-Zayas also won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, making history as the first Latina to win in that category.

Baby Reindeer, Netflix’s dark and quirky show, won a bunch of awards, including Best Limited Series.

Its creator, Richard Gadd, who won for acting and writing, encouraged other TV shows to take creative risks.

Jodie Foster got her first Emmy, adding to her two Oscars for her role in True Detective: Night Country.

Meanwhile, The Bear kept leading with its creator, Christopher Storer, winning his second Emmy for directing.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal also won guest acting Emmys for their roles in the show.

In the drama category, Elizabeth Debicki won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Princess Diana in The Crown, while Billy Crudup took Best Actor for The Morning Show.

Lamorne Morris won Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, beating out Robert Downey Jr. for his role in Fargo.
