Maitlis, the executive producer of the new drama series A Very Royal Scandal, pointed out that despite facing consequences and losing respect, Prince Andrew, Epstein’s victims did not receive closure.

She states that there has been no legal proceeding, no feeling of facing consequences.

The reporter additionally reveals a mysterious statement from a person near King Charles, stating that the monarch was “not displeased” with the interview.

Maitlis reflects on the significance of those words, questioning if it signaled the start of a potential “reset” between the Royal Family and the British public.

Actress Ruth Wilson, portraying Maitlis in the drama, commends the journalist’s “impatience” and tumultuous personality, which she depicted through thorough research and observation.

Maitlis admits that the series takes some creative liberties, but she thinks it offers a more profound insight into the repercussions of the interview.

As the drama series gets ready to premiere will be released on Prime Video on 19 September., Maitlis looks back on the lasting influence of the interview, stating, “The narrative isn’t complete yet, but this is the closest you’ll come to comprehending its inception.”
