Rapper Diddy marks 55th birthday behind bars on simple prison fare, after arrest on sex trafficking charges; trial set for 2024.
Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs will be marking his 55th birthday this year in a very different way than usual.
Instead of his typical lavish celebrations, Combs is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being arrested on sex trafficking charges.
While Combs’ social media-savvy children shared a birthday tribute, complete with a video of his youngest daughter singing “Happy Birthday,” the music mogul will have to make do with a modest prison meal for his special day.
According to the detention center’s menu, Combs’ birthday breakfast will consist of fruit, cereal, breakfast cake, and skim milk – the same fare he’ll receive for the rest of the week.
For lunch, he’ll have the option of pasta with marinara sauce, meatballs or chickpea marinara, a garden salad, and whole wheat bread.
Dinner will feature either chicken or tofu fried rice, along with black beans, carrots, and more whole wheat bread.
Combs’ criminal trial is set to begin on May 5, 2024, and he faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison if found guilty on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.
This subdued birthday celebration is a far cry from the lavish parties Combs is known for throwing.
But for now, the music mogul will have to make the most of his modest prison meal as he awaits his day in court.
