Téa Leoni Hit the Hungarian Trails: What Happened?
The 59-year-old Téa Leoni revealed details about working with co-stars Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega on Death of a Unicorn.
The three of them rode e-bikes through the countryside of Hungary during breaks instead of using scripts.
At SXSW, Leoni revealed, “We went off-roading.” Like Paul in Free Willy, Jenna and I watched him leap a ravine. I couldn’t stop laughing when he stuck the landing.
Anyway, what’s the movie about?
The A24 horror-comedy centers on Ridley (Ortega), whose father (Rudd) unintentionally kills a unicorn.
When they transport the legendary carcass to a corporate retreat run by the cunning CEO of Richard E. Grant, mayhem breaks out.
Imagine corporate greed combined with dark humor and a dash of magical roadkill.
On set, who kept the vibes light?
Alex Scharfman, the director, ensured that mischief prevailed. “Everyone was a clown—in the best way,” joked 32-year-old Will Poulter.
“Budapest had no’moral police,’ so we got creative,” Grant, 67, continued.
Rudd’s antics, deadpan zingers from Ortega, and pranks kept the crew laughing.
Who Was the Greatest Joker?
While Ortega was an expert at stealth comedy, Grant declared Rudd the “innately funny” MVP, saying, “She’d drop a joke with zero expression, then boom—everyone’s dying.”
Rudd retaliated, complimenting Poulter’s deft improvisational skills and Grant’s renowned wit.
When Will This Exciting Ride Be Available?
On March 28, Death of a Unicorn bursts into theaters. Anticipate ridiculousness, gore from unicorns, and a cast that obviously never matured.
