Carrie Underwood's Vegas Show: heartfelt duets

Ever wondered what a Carrie Underwood Vegas show actually is?

Imagine, then, flames erupt consuming a Jeep during “Before He Cheats,” a display of pure, wild energy.

She then rises, a figure hung above the stage covered in a cascade of water during “Something In the Water.”

“We really had to bring the spectacle and the drama — it’s Vegas, baby!” she said, capturing the whole theatricality of it all.

Her personal highlight, then, is what?

This is the “All-American Girl” moment, a delightful return to her early career whereby a bachelorette is chosen from the audience for a duet.

She said, a real warmth in her voice, “It’s so fun to be part of someone’s special night.”

The best surprise came next: “My favorite was when I brought my mom out to sing it with me when she came to see the show. She destroyed the house!

Did she adopt the Vegas way of life completely?

Remarkably, not quite. Her off-stage life stayed quite grounded while she oversaw the stage with all the glitter and gloss. She liked renting a house, avoiding the typical distractions of the city.

But one night, involving rapper Ludacris, who was playing at a nearby nightclub, became her “most Vegas” experience.

“After my show, a bunch of us, including lots of my band and team, went out to see him perform there that night as he went on around 1 a.m.,” she said.

“We all had a great time; it was a rather late night!”
