“Zoe Saldaña talks about the sacrifices she makes in juggling her successful Hollywood profession with having three boys.
The rising star of the Paramount+ series “Lioness,” Zoe Saldaña has shown herself to be a force to be reckoned with on film.
Off-screen, however, the actress is negotiating the fine line between her fulfilling Hollywood job and the pleasures and responsibilities of having three young kids.
Before the second season of the program debuted, Saldaña frankly spoke with Fox News Digital about the challenges of being a working parent.
She said, “I wish I knew how to balance it.” “You know, I feel as if I have a grasp over seasons sometimes.
And as of recently, I have been busy and on the road promoting two amazing projects that I am really, very proud of.”
Saldaña said that the whole family must make “painful” compromises from these ongoing obligations.
“It’s difficult because you want to do it, but you care about both things in your life, and you don’t want to let either thing down,” she continued.
Her counsel to other parents juggling this balancing act is to “manage being torn” and cut out the word “have” from their lexicon, as it will cause them to feel obliged to pick between job and family.
In “Lioness,” Saldaña portrays Joe, a CIA agent assigned to head a clandestine group of female undercover agents engaged in the fight against terror.
The actress said she had high regard for the U.S. troops and their families even before she started this production; she described them as “utterly selfless” people ready to give their lives for others.
The venerable Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman, a partnership Saldaña called a “gift” and an “honor,” co-star on “Lioness.”
From Kidman, Saldaña learned the value of letting her co-stars shape the tone of a scene instead of being too exact in her training.
Working parents all over find encouragement in Saldaña’s candor about the difficulties of this juggling act as she negotiates the demands of her active profession and her responsibilities as a loving mother.
Viewers may expect to witness Saldaña’s talents as both an actor and a relevant, industrious mother, with the second season of “Lioness” already under production.
