When Wolverine and Spider-Man almost had a fight
Attention, comic book fans! Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy, directed by Sam Raimi, is returning to theaters in September.
And this time there’s something special – you’ll get to see the extended version of Spider-Man 2, aka Spider-Man 2.1, on the big screen, upgraded to 4K.
A Wolverine cameo that never happened
But what’s even more fun is that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine almost had a cameo in the first Spider-Man movie!
Imagine Wolverine and Spider-Man together, back when the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t even exist!
The story of just a suitcase
Jackman revealed in 2013 that he tried to do a cameo while Spider-Man was being shot in 2001. The problem was that he couldn’t find Wolverine’s suit!
His suit got stuck in “something” somewhere, and he couldn’t find it when he was in New York.
What a joke, right? One of the world’s most powerful heroes couldn’t make it to the big screen because of just a suitcase!

The floodgates are open!
Previously, different studios owned Marvel’s character rights, so crossovers were difficult.
But now, Disney has bought 20th Century Fox, and is sharing the rights to Spider-Man with Sony.
So, everything is fine now. Jackman also believes that just like characters keep on mingling in comics, the same should happen in films as well.
Will this crossover still happen?
Nowadays, all three Spider-Men (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland) are seen in the Spider-Man films, and Jackman has also appeared as Wolverine in films like Logan, Deadpool & Wolverine, and X-Men: First Class.
So, who knows, after 25 years, we might get to see a crossover of these original characters! Who knows, anything is possible in the future!
