Fox cancels “The Cleaning Lady” and “Alert” despite loyal viewership, joining recent TV drama purge across networks.

End of the Road for Fan Favorites
Fox just pulled the plug on two crime shows that kept viewers glued to their screens.
The network decided not to renew “The Cleaning Lady” and “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” for more seasons.
Both shows had built loyal followings but now fans must say goodbye to these beloved characters.
The Cleaning Lady’s Final Scrub
“The Cleaning Lady” starred Élodie Yung as Thony, a brilliant surgeon who ended up working for a Vegas crime family.
The show wrapped after four action-packed seasons that took viewers on a wild ride through the criminal underworld.
The final episode aired Tuesday, closing a chapter that began back in 2022.
International Roots and Star Power
The series drew inspiration from an Argentine show called “La Chica que Limpia.”
Fox’s version brought together an impressive cast, including Oliver Hudson and Naveen Andrews.
The show faced a major challenge when actor Adan Canto tragically passed away from cancer after the second season.
Honoring a Fallen Star
Creator Miranda Kwok faced the heartbreaking task of continuing without Canto.
“We had to figure out how to craft a season that honors Adan as a human being,” she explained.
The team reworked storylines while keeping space for his character Arman, hoping he might return before his passing.
Alert Also Gets the Axe
“Alert: Missing Persons Unit” focused on Philly cops tracking down missing people.
Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez led the show, though Ramirez’s character was killed off after season two.
The series wrapped after three seasons, with its final episode airing just last month.
Star-Studded Origins
Jamie Foxx co-created “Alert” alongside John Eisendrath of “The Blacklist” fame.
The show premiered in January 2023 and maintained a consistent format with each episode focusing on a different missing person case.
Despite solid performances, it couldn’t escape the network’s cancellation spree.
TV Landscape in Flux
These cancellations aren’t isolated incidents.
Other shows like “Suits LA” at NBC and “The Wheel of Time” at Prime Video have also gotten the chop recently.
The TV world keeps changing, and even established series with dedicated fans aren’t safe from the ever-shifting priorities of networks.
