Teresa Giudice’s Explosive Walkout During Tax Question

Teresa Giudice ended her live interview when pressed about her 3 million dollar tax troubles.

Teresa Giudice's Explosive Walkout During Tax Question

When Teresa Giudice said yes to a morning show interview, she probably expected easy questions about the reality TV drama.

But what she got was a financial ordeal that forced her to flee—or, in this case, hit the hang-up button.

Teresa Giudice: From table flips to call drops

The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star was chatting via video call on WGN-TV’s morning news last Friday.

It started well, with some lighthearted talk about her famous table-flipping moments and old cast feuds with Danielle Staub.

Then, anchor Larry Potash decided to spice things up a little.

The question that broke the camel’s back

“So you’ll be at Zanies, and PEOPLE will be asking you all kinds of questions,” Potash said, referring to Teresa’s upcoming comedy club show.

Then came the bomb: “How does a family not pay their taxes for years?”

You could practically hear the record scratch.

Tax troubles are not minor

The question was not without reason. Teresa and her husband, Luis Ruelas, were hit with tax liens of more than $3 million this March.

Teresa’s share? A whopping $303,889. Luis owns the lion’s share of the stock, at $2.6 million.

This isn’t her first financial entanglement, either. In 2014, she spent 11 months in prison after pleading guilty to fraud charges.

Her ex-husband Joe also served time before he was deported.

Deer-in-the-headlights moment

Teresa’s reaction was priceless. First came the confusion: “Which family are you talking about?” she asked, as if genuinely confused.

When Potash clarified, “Your family. Was that the fraud charges?” Teresa didn’t miss a beat.

“Okay, I’m hanging up,” she announced. “That’s it, hang up. That’s it.”

No reality check, please

After Teresa disappeared from the screen, Potash couldn’t help but throw in a little jibe: “She didn’t like that question. Wasn’t that part of the show?”

Her co-anchor Robin Baumgarten quickly summarized the past decade of Teresa’s legal troubles for viewers.

Potash’s final stab? “That’s what reality shows are made of.”

Teresa has been a fixture on RHONJ since it launched in 2009.

While she’s comfortable flipping tables on camera, it seems tax talk is where she draws the line.

Her “Party with a Housewife” event at Zane’s is still scheduled for June 29—just don’t expect any Q&A about the IRS.
