Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Teddi Mellencamp and Erika Jayne have opened up about their feelings on Aaron Phypers’ divorce from Denise Richards.
On the latest episode of the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, the two aimed Phypers for demanding spousal support and other questionable divorce demands.
Shocking breakup
After nearly six years of marriage, Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, citing “irreconcilable differences” and giving July 4 as their date of separation.
The filing surprised many, including Mellencamp, who recalled Richards’ earlier stance on divorce from the reality show: “She said she would never believe in divorce. There’s no chance of a divorce happening.”
Money Matters Raise Questions
What angered the podcast hosts the most was Phypers’ demand for financial support from Richards.
“He’s asking her for spousal expenses,” Jayne explained, while Mellencamp claimed he wants “a lot” of money from the 54-year-old actress.
“She’s a working mother,” Jayne insisted, referring to Richards’ career and their three daughters.
Eloise’s Status
Most concerning for both women was how Phypers treated Richards’ 14-year-old adopted daughter, Eloise.
In her divorce filing, Phypers claimed the couple “didn’t have any children together,” though Eloise had been living with her since their 2018 marriage. This was contrary to what the women had understood.
“I thought he had adopted Eloise,” Jayne commented.
“He told us he did,” Mellencamp added.
No Love Left
The former RHOBH cast members made no secret that Phypers was never their “favorite person” during their time together on Bravo.
“What an idiot,” Mellencamp said candidly, suggesting his motives may be financial. “It’s because he doesn’t want to pay [Denise] anything.”
Work Troubles
Phypers admitted in his petition that he hasn’t made any income since shutting down his wellness business in 2024, sparking further criticism from the women.
Both Jayne and Mellencamp’s message to Phypers was pretty clear: “Leave [Denise] alone.”
Mellencamp didn’t mince words in her final assessment: “There are very few men I dislike as much as that man. He’s easy to dislike.”
