PM Modi, making his first trip to Ukraine, gave a big thumbs up to the Indian community in Kyiv, making it clear that India is there for them during the tough times.
On August 23, 2024, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history by visiting Ukraine. He told the Indian community in Kyiv, “I am here now,” during his trip, which was the first time an Indian Prime Minister had gone to Ukraine.
This visit was super important, both symbolically and in terms of diplomacy. Modi’s visit showed India’s strong support for peace and stability, and its promise to look out for its people living abroad, who have been hit hard by the war.
The Indian community in Ukraine was really happy to see Modi, who got to Kyiv after a long train ride from Poland because it was the safest way to get there.
His words really hit home for the Indian people living there, who had just been through some really scary stuff, like missile attacks and drone strikes.
PM #Modi’s visit to #Ukraine isn’t about appeasing Western powers after his #Moscow visit. It’s about being a credible voice of the #GlobalSouth as it is the poor nations that suffer when richer nations fight, highlights @Ajaybis https://t.co/lHDSKSNyPQ

During his stay, Modi had talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about making their relationship stronger in defense, working together on the economy, and tech stuff.
They also talked about how they both want to work things out peacefully by talking and working things out together.
