Pedro Pascal look-alike contest
“What? Who do you look like? “- Stewart’s hilarious reaction
George Gaunt never thought that he would become famous because of his appearance.
But everything changed overnight when the Daily Show’s lighting designer took part in a Pedro Pascal look-alike contest.
Unknowingly
Jon Stewart couldn’t believe his eyes. Even after working with Gauntas for so many years, he never thought, “Hey, this looks exactly like the actor from ‘The Last of Us’!”
“I never really noticed,” Stewart admitted during the on-air chat, where he showed a picture of the everyday Gaunts with their hair curly and beards thick.
From text messages to trophies
It all started with a group chat.
My stage manager, Tyler, texted me, Hey man, you can go and win a year’s worth of free burritos, Gauntas said with a laugh. “I told my wife on Friday, and she said, ‘You must do this.”
With the help of his stylish neighbor, Gauntas made himself completely like Pedro Pascal.
“You will win.
Gauntas arrived without reserving a spot.
“I just got there and said, ‘Hey brother, I’m here,'” he recalled. The organisers took one look and said, “You will win.”
They were right. Gauntus returned home with $50 and the promised free burritos.
A wife’s condition
While Gauntas seems unfazed by his newfound fame, his wife Jenny has a small wish.
“He says, ‘I don’t have a problem with your attention, if I can meet Pedro Pascal,” Gauntas said.
Looking directly into the camera, he appealed to the heart: “Hey Pedro, I’m speaking Pedro #5 from the New York Post. Meeting my wife, Jenny will mean the world to her.”
Look-alikes from Game of Thrones
Jenny told reporters that people had noticed her husband’s resemblance to Pedro since the days of Game of Thrones, and that these comments increased during The Mandalorian and The Last of Us.
Fame’s only disadvantage
Despite describing the attention as “insanely crazy,” Gauntas had only one real concern.
“The thing that bothered me the most was coming here today, “Stewart said. “These guys are like big brothers to me, and I knew my friends would make fun of me.”
But for Burritos, it was all worth it.
