Ms. Rachel Defends Olivia Munn Against Online Hate Storm

Just one day after John Mulaney revealed his wife, Olivia Munn, received threatening messages, beloved children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel (Rachel Accurso) has stepped forward with a heartfelt plea for kindness.

“Please be kind to Olivia & her precious family!” Accurso wrote in a statement that cuts through the noise of what some outlets tried framing as a celebrity feud. “I don’t believe in hate, attacks, or hurtful comments.”

The situation sparked when Munn mentioned in a now-removed PEOPLE interview that she limits her children’s exposure to certain programs—including Ms. Rachel’s popular educational show—because they “drive me crazy.”

A relatable parenting moment quickly morphed into something far uglier online.

What bothered Ms. Rachel wasn’t Munn’s personal preference, but rather how media outlets pounced on the comment while ignoring more pressing issues.

“I see stories that don’t matter while children’s immeasurable suffering is being ignored—it breaks me,” she explained.

Despite what clickbait headlines might suggest, there’s no bad blood between these women.

“Her and I have been in touch and we are both choosing kindness,” Accurso confirmed, adding, “She just shared an opinion, which is fine.”

Munn herself clarified her stance before her husband’s defensive post: “I never anticipated the media would single out one small thing I said and distort it.

My comments were never meant to diminish the joy, comfort, and impact she brings to so many families.”

The children’s educator, known for her developmental language focus and advocacy work, emphasized that parenting is challenging enough without manufactured drama.

“We all make mistakes and struggle and misspeak and do beautiful, kind things because it’s hard to be a human. It’s really hard.”

This refreshing display of mutual respect reminds us that beneath the celebrity headlines are real people navigating the messy, yet beautiful, journey of parenthood, just like the rest of us.
