The Lonely Island guys still can’t believe they actually got away with showing Will Forte’s naked butt on network TV.
During their latest podcast chat, Andy, Akiva, and Jorma were howling about their 2009 SNL digital short “A Couple of Homies.”
They were totally shocked when they rewatched it and saw that yep, Forte’s bare bottom made it to air without any blurring whatsoever!
“Wait, How Did We Air That?!”
“I remember us being like, ‘How is this possible?'” Andy laughed while reminiscing about the sketch.
The trio was missing Seth Meyers that day but still dove into this wild memory from SNL’s 34th season.
The episode, hosted by Rosario Dawson with Fleet Foxes as musical guests, featured their trademark random costume changes and ridiculous lyrics. But nothing topped Forte’s surprise rear-end reveal!
NYPD Who?
When Andy compared it to “NYPD Blue” (ya know, that cop show from the ’90s), Jorma was totally lost.
Akiva jumped in to explain the Dennis Franz butt-showing phenomenon that was such a big deal back in the day.
Andy cracked that maybe their whole sketch was secretly paying homage to the show’s butt-baring legacy. Honestly, who knows with these guys?
Bananas, Dresses, and Butts
The sketch itself is peak Lonely Island weirdness. Andy and Fred Armisen just hang out while Forte narrates everything they do through song.
They high-five, drink sodas, flip through magazines, and even wear yellow dresses while peeling bananas.
Then comes the grand finale – Forte steps back from the mic, turns around, and BAM! Full butt against the wall, completely uncensored.
