That Awkward Disney Moment
Remember when South Park roasted the Jonas Brothers? Joe Jonas totally does!
In a candid chat with Mythical Chef Josh Scherer, Joe spilled the tea about that infamous episode.
“Our skin was not as thick back then,” he admits with a chuckle.
The 2009 episode showed Mickey Mouse literally beating up the band over their purity rings, and boy was it memorable!
One Brother’s Guilty Pleasure
Unlike his brothers, Joe was secretly loving the attention. “I think I was the only brother who loved it,” he confesses with a mischievous grin.
As a South Park fan himself, Joe got the joke immediately. “This is so funny, I know what they’re doing, they make fun of everyone!”
The other JoBros? Not so thrilled about being cartoon punching bags.
Mickey’s Meltdown Explained
The episode “The Ring” dropped right after their 3D concert film hit theaters.
Talk about perfect timing! South Park painted the boys as Disney puppets with Mickey as their terrifying boss.
The show hilariously mocked how Disney marketed teen heartthrobs while keeping their squeaky-clean image intact.
Mickey’s violent outburst became an instant classic moment in the show’s history.
Badge of Honor
These days, Joe sees the parody as a compliment. “To be made fun of by a comic is usually a sign that they give a s—, and they care,” he points out.
The episode wasn’t really targeting them personally but poking fun at the whole teen band concept.
Joe even quotes the episode sometimes, proudly declaring, “What an honor to get my ass kicked by Mickey!”
Looking Back With Laughter
Time heals all cartoon wounds! “Now, we just laugh. We love that,” Joe says about his family’s current take.
What was once shocking has become a hilarious memory. For Joe, it’s become “definitely a claim-to-fame.”
