Creek Star Returns to High School Drama

James Van Der Beek is heading back to school, but not as Dawson Leery this time!

The 90s heartthrob just snagged a recurring role in Amazon’s “Elle,” the buzzy Legally Blonde prequel series.

He’ll play Dean Wilson, a school superintendent with mayoral dreams who’s bound to shake things up in Elle Woods’ teenage world.

Talk about a blast from the past – from Capeside to Elle’s hometown!

Fighting Through Challenges

Despite his recent health battle, Van Der Beek isn’t slowing down one bit.

After revealing his colorectal cancer diagnosis last November, the actor has kept incredibly busy.

He’s already popped up on The Masked Singer this year and will soon appear in Benito Skinner’s Amazon Prime comedy “Overcompensating.”

His optimism and work ethic are truly something else!

Blonde Ambition Origins

Announced last spring, “Elle” takes us back to the high school days of everyone’s favorite fashionable law student.

Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine is behind the project, promising to reveal all the formative experiences that shaped our beloved Elle Woods.

Fresh Faces Take On Iconic Roles

Rising star Lexi Minetree scored the coveted role of young Elle Woods after an emotional reveal from Witherspoon herself.

The cast is rounded out with some serious talent – June Diane Raphael plays Elle’s mom Eva, while Tom Everett Scott takes on dad duties as Wyatt.

They’re joined by a crew of young stars including Kayla Maisonet and Chandler Kinney.

Witherspoon’s Stamp of Approval

“I couldn’t be more excited,” gushed Witherspoon about the prequel series.

While she won’t reprise her iconic role on screen, her producer involvement ensures Elle’s teenage adventures stay true to the character we fell in love with.

The series stands separate from the long-awaited third Legally Blonde film, which has been brewing since 2018 with Mindy Kaling attached.
