Comedian George Lopez shares emotional response after NBC cancels family sitcom ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’ after 3 seasons.

So guys, did you hear the news? NBC just axed ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’ after three seasons, and George Lopez isn’t taking it quietly.
The comedy legend recently opened up about what the show truly meant to him – and trust me, it’s way more than just another gig.
“This wasn’t just a show, it was and is our lives.
We created a family,” George shared in a super personal statement. You can really feel how much this project meant to him.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, ‘Lopez vs. Lopez’ was this awesome sitcom following a working-class Latino dad (played by George himself) who moves in with his Gen Z daughter (played by his real-life daughter Mayan).
The show was all about them rebuilding their relationship and making up for lost time – pretty relatable stuff, right?
NBC dropped the cancellation bomb on May 9th, along with several other shows like ‘Night Court,’ ‘Suits LA,’ ‘The Irrational,’ and ‘Found.’ Talk about a bloodbath for TV shows!
The ratings weren’t terrible – it averaged about 2.33 million viewers with delayed playback – but apparently that wasn’t enough to save it.
The show was actually holding steady compared to last year, but it was losing about half the audience from its lead-in show ‘Happy’s Place.’
What’s really hitting me in the feels is that George had previously hinted this might be his last project.
In an interview last October at NBC’s Comedies celebration, he said, “I mean, I would like for it to go a few more seasons.”
Seems like he was hoping for more time with this TV family he created.
The final episode aired back on February 7th, so sadly that’s now doubling as the series finale.
Anyone else feel like we should’ve gotten a proper goodbye?
For a show that blended real-life family dynamics with comedy, it’s no wonder George feels this loss so deeply. It wasn’t just another sitcom – it was personal.
