Six-time Emmy winner Erika Slezak heads to Port Charles this fall after decades on One Life to Live

After dazzling fans for decades on “One Life to Live,” soap legend Erika Slezak is making her way to Port Charles this fall.
The exciting news dropped Thursday when GH executive producer Frank Valentini shared: “I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former ‘One Life to Live’ colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on @GeneralHospital this Fall.”
These two go way back—they worked together from the ’80s until OLTL wrapped up in 2012. What a reunion in the making!
According to Slezak’s fan site, she’s signed a short-term contract with ABC’s beloved soap.
While we don’t know who she’ll play yet, Slezak is reportedly pumped to team up with Valentini and the GH cast again.
If you’re a soap fan, you know Slezak is practically royalty.
After training at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and cutting her teeth on stage, she became Victoria “Viki” Lord in 1971.
She ended up playing the role for over 2,600 episodes spanning five decades! Her incredible journey from young newspaper boss to the show’s heart and soul earned her six Daytime Emmy Awards—more than any actress has ever won in a single category.
Funny thing is, Slezak thought she was trying out for a brand-new character, not realizing she’d be replacing Joanne Dorian (who awkwardly shared her agent).
Outside soap operas, you might’ve spotted Slezak in “Full Circle,” the indie film “Guest Artist” with Jeff Daniels, or guest spots on “Blue Bloods” and “The Residence.”
Later this year, catch her in the musical film “Song Sung Blue” alongside Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.
Port Charles, better watch out—soap royalty is coming to shake things up!
