Christina Hall has opened up about her experience filming her new reality show, “The Flip Off,” with her ex-husband, Josh Hall, admitting it was quite challenging.
The home renovation star was set to co-star with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his new wife, Heather El Moussa.
The filming took a complicated turn when Christina and Josh filed for divorce in July, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Christina shared, “When someone feels insecure around you and doesn’t like to see you succeed, it can really bring down the mood.
I felt like I was dimming my own light to avoid making him feel less than, and honestly, who wants to live that way?”
Christina didn’t hold back, describing the experience as “not fun.” She explained that after their split, filming actually became a lot easier and more enjoyable for her.
“The dynamics would have been tough,” she said, referencing potential jealousy over Tarek and noting how their relationship might appear flirtatious, but it felt more like sibling teasing to her.
Tarek and Christina were married for seven years before their divorce in 2018, and they have two kids together.
Interestingly, Heather noted that Josh’s absence was a relief, saying, “I don’t want to be mean, but it was kind of nice to see him go.”
Tarek commented on Christina’s transformation during filming, saying she quickly bounced back and her vibrant energy returned, confirming, “She’s happy and excited about life again.”
Christina agreed and revealed she had been vocal about her struggles for over a year.
As for rumors of her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead, making an appearance on the show, Tarek hinted, “I think you will, yes,” while Heather playfully added, “You’ll have to find out and see.”
As for co-parenting, both Tarek and Christina emphasized the importance of putting their kids first.
“Healing yourself is the first step, and then healing past relationships comes next,” Tarek advised, with Christina echoing that the kids will always be their top priority.
