What’s the Story?
The story follows struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh who accepts the task of completing the book series of a bestselling author who is unable to write after a mysterious accident.
When Lowen arrives at the Crawford mansion, she finds an unfinished manuscript with disturbing revelations about the family.
As she grows closer to Jeremy and their young son Crew, she must determine if Verity’s writings are fiction or a warning about the unconscious author upstairs.
Hoover takes over Hollywood
“Verity” joins Hoover’s growing list of adaptations. “It Ends With Us” has already found success, “Regretting You” is coming in October 2025, and “Reminders of Him” is currently casting at Universal.
Dakota Johnson admitted she wasn’t familiar with “Verity” before receiving the script, but described the story as “juicy” and having “really weird twists and turns.”
With this talented team both in front of and behind the camera, “Verity” promises to be a gripping thriller that’s true to Hoover’s captivating storytelling style.
