Shocking discovery
In a heartbreaking incident, American Idol veteran music supervisor Robin Kaye and her musician husband, Thomas Deluca, were found shot to death in their Encino home on Monday.
The couple, both 70 years old, were found after a welfare check when someone became concerned after no one had been able to contact them.
Suspect in custody
Los Angeles police have arrested Raymond Boodarian, a 22-year-old Encino resident, in connection with the murders.
Authorities believe the couple followed Boodarian inside their $4.5 million home, leading to the deadly encounter.
Horrifying scene
Officers found a disturbing scene with a stream of blood leading to the front of the property.
They entered through a broken glass sliding door at the back of the home.
Deluca was found in the bathroom while Kaye was found in the pantry, both with gunshot wounds to the head.
Previous incident
Only four days earlier, police responded to a report of a possible burglary at the same address.
Although there were no visible signs of forced entry at the time, investigators now believe the suspect broke in through an unlocked door.
Unplanned Violence
Police believe the murders were unplanned and there was no known connection between the victims and the suspect.
The arrests were made by a multi-agency task force, including the FBI Fugitive Task Force.

Robin’s Legacy
Kaye built an impressive career spanning decades in both music and television.
She worked for American Idol from 2002 to 2023 and supervised music for shows like Lip Sync Battle and The Singing Bee.
From Nashville to Hollywood
After starting out working in Nashville with Waylon Jennings, Kaye later moved into artist development at MTM Records.
He held licensing roles at MCA-Universal and PolyGram before founding his own company, SyncroniCity in 2000, representing artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Kenny Loggins.
Remembering the couple
Deluca, a respected songwriter and musician, recently released an album called “Street Rock” in 2022.
American Idol released an emotional statement: “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by everyone she came in contact with. Robin will always be in our hearts.”
Investigation ongoing
Officials are still working to determine if Boodarian had any prior connection to the couple or any involvement in previous incidents at their home, as the investigation is still ongoing.
